DAY 20.2: PROGRESS

I am writing my first draft of my first draft. That is to say I am finally tackling a writing sample that I would like to include in the book. Don't hold me to this, but I plan to call it "Barack & Me."  (Not the book - just the writing sample.)  Do I have a relationship with our current President? No, get your mind out of the gutter. Did I turn down a relatively significant opportunity to work on his 2004 run for the U.S. Senate?  Yes.  Do I think about that decision often?  I would say "YES" is a fair answer to that question.

I have come to the conclusion that the best way to deal with regret is to make light of it, and then write a book.  So that is the plan.

Who knows, maybe one day I won't even have to make jokes about it.  I will just consider it one of the best decisions I ever made. Selection coming soon.

Truly yours, Milagros

We all have regrets, but I like to think that things happen for a reason. When I look back on opportunities that I've passed over, I know for certain that they weren't the right fit for me at the time and were meant to be part of someone else's success. A better opportunity for you will always present itself. You just need to keep putting yourself out there.
